Tobler’s triple-double propels MCC women

OSKALOOSA – Shantal Tobler had a triple-double and the Marshalltown Community College women’s basketball team snapped a brief two-game skid with a 79-57 rout over the William Penn junior varsity on Monday.

Tobler, a sophomore guard, finished with 10 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists. Mady Van Metre scored a team-leading 18 points, Mackenzie Gott had 17 points and nine rebounds, and Ashley Salgado put up 15 points as the Tigers finished with their second-highest scoring output of the season.

Latrice McMullen contributed eight rebounds as well for MCC, which is set to begin a three-game homestand with Wednesday’s contest against Iowa Lakes. The ICCAC Division II pairing is set to tip off at 5 p.m.
