Lions fundraiser was a success

The Marshalltown Noon Lions wish to thank the many guests who came out on a cold Saturday, Feb. 2 to attend the Seventh Annual Belgian Waffle Fundraiser. Thanks also to the Marshall County Rockets 4-H Club for helping serve the guests and the Knights of Columbus for providing a great location for the event. Noon Lions is also grateful to Kirk Niehouse of Stoneware Pottery, John Winters of Central Iowa Machine Shop, The Iowa Cubs and the six Noon Lions who provided prizes for the raffle held in conjunction with the Waffle Fundraiser. Raffle Winners were Kevin Hitchins, Paul Hackman, Mary Etta Fisher, Lyle Fox, Judy Stone, Darlene Thomas, Jillisa Woods, Charlotte McGinty, Don Anderson, Roger Hackman and Edith Podhajsky.

Funds raised from this event will provide for the following Lions Programs: Eyeglasses and hearing aids for financially needy individuals, the upkeep and improvement of Lions Park and funding for prizes for the annual Peace Poster Contest which are created by Lenihan and Miller art students.

The Lions are pleased to provide this tradition of families and friends gathering on the first Saturday in February to visit and spend time together while supporting the Noon Lions in service to their community. We hope to see you at the 8th Annual Belgian Waffle Fundraiser which will be held on Feb. 1, 2014 at the Knights of Columbus.
