Sheriff’s Office arrest Le Grand man for stealing farm equipment
The Marshall County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Le Grand man on three felony charges Friday night.
Deputies arrested Jonathan Thompson, 29, on a warrant for possessing stolen property taken from a storage building at 1204 Newby Ave. in rural Liscomb, according to Marshall County Chief Deputy Burt Tecklenburg.
Thompson allegedly stole a hydraulic arm from a farm sprayer and a metal tank. Police recovered the items in Jasper County following an inquiry into the stolen property, according to Tecklenburg.
The theft took place Feb. 4.
Police arrested Thompson on the 900 block of West Main Street in Le Grand and charged him with ongoing criminal conduct, a Class B felony, third-degree burglary and second-degree theft, both Class D felonies.
Thompson was arrested in mid-December 2012 for second-degree criminal mischief and again in late December 2012 for first-degree theft.
A Class B felony is punishable by up to 25 years in prison. Thompson is being held on a $25,000 bond.
The investigation will continue.
