School success a top priority for student

Kim-mee Schmitt was taught at a very young age that being successful at school is very important.

“Ever since I was young, my dad said graders are No. 1,” Schmitt said.

Schmitt, 16, is a junior at Marshalltown High School. Her chemistry teacher, Mike Loupee, has been impressed with her in class.

“She’s enthusiastic, always very responsible and well prepared,” Loupee said.

Schmitt hopes to go to college someday but is unsure what field she would like to study.

She realizes her effort at MHS can affect her future and wants to do well.

“I just want to have a good future,” she said.
