Family: Spouse is Shannon. Sons are Evan 13, and Ethan, 10.
Pets: Bullet, a Welsh Corgi dog.
Hobbies and interests: Showing Hereford cattle, farming, running, basketball, golf, swimming and coaching my sons. Additionally, I enjoy traveling with family and my iPad. (I am an Apple nut).
Occupation: Mortgage Loan Officer at Farmer’s Savings Bank in Marshalltown.
What that means: I write home purchase and refinance loans.
Tenure: I have been at FSB less than a year, but in the mortgage business 11 years.
Best part of job: I love helping people and solving problems.
Movies: “Caddyshack,” directed by Harold Ramis. I also enjoy James Bond and Clint Eastwood movies.
Foods: Beef, fresh seafood, Italian food, German bratwursts and anything chocolate!
Sports: Oklahoma State University – I bleed orange for my alma mater – and the Chicago Bears. I am an avid basketball, football and golf lover.
Best part of living here: I enjoy the rural and farming areas – and being within an easy drive to get just about anything one needs.
Most influential person: Jesus Christ
Local involvement: First Baptist Church, GMG School Board, Iowa Hereford Association, Marshalltown Football League and the Republican Party.
Advice on life: Life is what you make it; learn from your failures and enjoy your successes and build on them. Don’t blame others for your problems or mistakes; but, be responsible and confident in what you do. Most of all, smile and have fun.
