Clement hitless as Red Wings fall to Buffalo 3-2
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Rochester Red Wings dropped to 0-2 on the young season with a 3-2 International League loss to the Buffalo Bisons on Friday afternoon at Coca-Cola Field.
Marshalltown native Jeff Clement, batting fifth as the Red Wings’ first baseman, went 0-for-4 at the plate.
Clement’s first plate appearance was his biggest chance to do damage with the bat, but he grounded out to second for the final out in the top of the first with two runners in scoring position. He also struck out twice in his second game with the Minnesota Twins’ Triple-A affiliate.
The two teams lock up again today and Sunday at the Red Wings’ home field in Rochester, N.Y.
