Hill faces sentencing for tax evasion

NEWARK, N.J. – Eight-time Grammy-winning singer Lauryn Hill faces sentencing Monday in New Jersey on tax evasion charges. Hill pleaded guilty in June to not paying federal taxes on $1.8 million earned from 2005 to 2007. She faces a maximum one-year jail term on each of the three counts. The South Orange resident got her start with The Fugees and began her solo career in 1998.
