Kozak named Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction

Principal Rex Kozak, of East Marshall High School in Le Grand, was recently selected as a Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction by the National Society of High School Scholars.

NSHSS is an international honor society dedicated to highlighting the accomplishments of high school students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership, scholarship and community commitment. A role model to students, Rex Kozak was nominated by a student for outstanding dedication and commitment to excellence in the classroom.

Student members of NSHSS have the opportunity to nominate the educator who made the most significant contribution to their academic career. The Claes Nobel Educator of Distinction award recognizes role models who have made a lasting difference in their classrooms by encouraging students to strive for excellence.

Chronic pain management now available at McFarland Clinic

McFarland Clinic Pain Medicine Physician Dr. Bradley Wargo began providing treatment for chronic pain management on May 16 at the Marshalltown McFarland Clinic office, 312 E. Main St. People experiencing discomfort that has disturbed their lifestyle often are referred to the Pain Medicine Clinic to assist in diagnosing and treating their condition.

Wargo offers the following services: epidural steroid injections, trigger point injections, stellate ganglion blocks, sacroiliac joint injections, facet joint nerve blocks and piriformis steroid injections. Management of pain includes: back, arm, neck, work-related injuries, vascular, muscular and acute shingles.

He received his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from the University of Health Sciences in Kansas City, Mo. After, he completed his residency in anesthesiology at the University of Kansas Medical Center and a fellowship in interventional pain management at the University of Texas-MD Anderson Cancer Center.
