Domestic dispute lands local man two assault, child endangerment charges
Police arrested a local man for allegedly severely injuring the mother of his child in front of the couple’s 3-year-old daughter.
Cody Moore, 29, is charged with aggravated assault, child endangerment without injury, both aggravated misdemeanors; and willful injury, a Class D felony.
Capt. Mike Hanken, with the Marshalltown Police Department, said Moore and his girlfriend got into an argument at Moore’s home on the 1100 block of West Church Street June 29 that ended with Moore striking the woman in the face, breaking several bones and causing her to need hospitalization.
Emergency medical technicians transported the victim to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center for treatment. Hanken said he was unaware of the woman’s status but that her daughter remained with her after police arrested Moore.
Police made information of the arrest available Monday.
