Man wanted after hitting girlfriend with pipe

Police are searching for a Marshalltown man who allegedly beat his girlfriend with a metal pipe.

Mario Fernando Castellanos, 25, remains at large after an alleged incident at a Marshalltown motel Monday afternoon.

Castellanos, according to a police report, struck his girlfriend multiple times with the black metal pipe. The woman, whom police say had multiple bruises including several on her forearms and a cut to her scalp, fled the motel and eventually contacted police.

Castellanos is charged with serious domestic assault with use of a weapon, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Castellanos was out on bond while awaiting trial for allegedly using a stun gun on a child in March.
