Clement’s go-ahead RBI helps Rochester prevail

ROCHESTER, N.Y. – Jeff Clement put his team in front and the Rochester Red Wings later rallied for a 7-3 victory over the Louisville Bats at Frontier Field on Saturday.

Clement stroked an opposite field, two-out RBI-single to put Rochester in front 1-0 in the bottom of the first and the Red Wings added four runs in the fifth to overcome a 3-2 deficit.

The Marshalltown native hit 1-for-4 with a walk, raising his batting average to .216 on the season. Clement is second on the Minnesota Twins’ Triple-A affiliate in RBIs (65), home runs (15) and doubles (20). The Red Wings (70-59) hold a two-game lead over the Pawtucket PawSox (67-60) for first in the International League North.

Rochester hosts Louisville (60-69) today at 5:05 p.m.
