Firefighters respond to mobile home court fire early Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a mobile home park early Friday morning for a fire that affected multiple units.

The fire did approximately $50,000 worth of damage to lot 16 and lot 17 at 3202 S. 12th St. in the Sunset Village court.

Crews were on the scene for approximately four hours. No injuries occurred to the occupants of the homes but a firefighter did suffer a minor injury to their hand. A working smoke detector helped one occupant get out of their home to safety. The fire department was called to the scene at 3:05 a.m. Friday. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
