‘Run for the House’ a success
The House of Compassion hosted its inaugural “Run for the House” Sept. 7.
With the help of numerous volunteers, 149 race participants started their trek at our front doors. Every participant – be they runners or walkers – had their own individual goal in mind, but all were unified to help us in our 365-day a year effort to combat poverty. Top male and female winners for the 10K run were Patrick O’Shea at 38:50 and Mary Ducar, 49:23. Top male and female winners for the 5K run/walk were Brian Leger 33:15 and Toni Smith, 27:15.
On behalf of our directors and staff, we offer a special thanks to each race participant and volunteers who gave their time to support our mission. Without all, we would be unable to overcome obstacles experienced by our clients and create lasting change. Thank you again for running in partnership with us.
Furthermore, we are grateful for our sponsors who made the event a remarkable success!
They were: Ken Wise, The Sports Page, United Bank & Trust, Eye Care Associates, Swift Greenhouse Inc., Life Connections, Adland Engraving & Screen Print, Stucky’s Vacuum, Fareway, PepsiCo, Mike’s Bikes, The Sheep’s Stocking, Move With Me – Fun Fitness and More, Taco Johns, AAA Septic Services, Dairy Queen South on Center St., R.S.
