Eighth grader sets example for others
As the lone eighth grader at Marshalltown Christian School, Alexandrea Olinger has helped show the proper way to learn for the younger students.
“She’s been a really great example to the other kids and is a great leader,” said her teacher, Erica Taft.
Taft said one of the ways she has served as an example is always doing her best no matter what the subject.
Olinger, 12, has a love of science and said she would done day like to become a veterinarian.
“I love animals,” Olinger said.
Her mother, Wendy Beckman, is a special education teacher for Marshalltown schools and Alexandrea has also been willing to help in that field as she volunteers her time for others.
