Preseason selection for Iowa’s Logic

ROSEMONT, Ill. – Iowa junior guard Samantha Logic was named Preseason all-Big Ten by the league media Thursday.

Logic started all 34 games last season and was a third team all-Big Ten selection. The 5-foot-9 guard set the school record for single-season assists (217) and single-game assists (14). The Racine, Wis., native also tallied five double-doubles and led the Big Ten in assists per game (6.4).

Penn State senior guard Maggie Lucas was chosen the Preseason Player of the Year by both the league’s coaches and media. Both polls had the same order for the top three teams led by Nebraska, Penn State and Michigan State.

Iowa, the only Big Ten team to appear in the last six NCAA tournaments, hosts Concordia-St. Paul in an exhibition Sunday at 1 p.m.
