Marshalltown man gets 2 years in prison for mail fraud
DES MOINES – A Marshalltown man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison after pleading guilty to mail fraud.
Federal prosecutors say 48-year-old Michael James Allison was convicted after entering a guilty plea.
Court documents say he schemed to defraud his employer by mailing fraudulent expense reports for reimbursement.
Allison was chief financial officer for a regional subsidiary of Airgas, Inc. Court documents say he claimed personal expenses as business expenses and fabricated expenses on reports.
Prosecutors alleged Allison obtained more than $400,000 as a result of his scheme over a period of 10 years.
