Thanks to a giving community

The Emergency Food Box Board of Directors and volunteers want to thank the Marshall County Community for again generously sharing their gifts of food during the Scouting for Food drive. The Emergency Food Box was gifted with more than 5,000 of the more than 6,000 items collected by the Boy Scouts, their leaders and parents

A special thank you to Greg DeSaulniers, Tamaha district “Scouting for Food” coordinator, who organized the 23rd drive and secured publicity for the events. We would also like to thank radio stations KFJB, KDAO and KCRM-LP, the Penny Saver and Times-Republican for all of the publicity they gave to this project. Also thank you to the T-R ad sponsors the Augustine Company, Central Iowa farm Store, Ethington Heating and Cooling, Hy-Vee, Ken Wise Auto Group, Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center, Southard Implement Company, Times- Republican and Wal-Mart.

On behalf of those who benefit from these contributions we want to thank all of the residents who took time to purchase food and place it on their front porches for pickup by the scouts. The residents of Marshall County are generous and caring.
