Iowa’s Fiedorowicz books his spot in Senior Bowl
IOWA CITY – University of Iowa senior tight end C.J. Fiedorowicz has accepted an invitation to participate for the North squad in the 2014 Senior Bowl.
The game is set for Jan. 25 in Mobile, Ala., and will be televised on the NFL Network. Fiedorowicz ranks third on the Hawkeyes with 23 receptions for 230 yards along with a team-best five touchdown grabs.
The 6-foot-7, 265-pound native of Johnsburg, Ill., has at least one reception in 29 straight games, which ranks second in the nation among FBS tight ends. His career totals include 84 receptions for 830 yards and nine touchdowns.
Fiedorowicz earned honorable mention all-Big Ten recognition from league coaches and media a year ago and was named to the John Mackey Award Midseason Watch List earlier this fall.
Since the first Senior Bowl in 1950, more than 40 Hawkeyes have competed in the all-star event with wide receiver Marvin McNutt, Jr., being the most recent following the 2011 season. Fiedorowicz will report for the game the weekend of Jan. 18-19 and will practice in front of scouts representing all 32 NFL teams throughout the week.
