Let your voice be heard at MMSC town hall meeting
We are writing an open letter to Marshalltown citizens in support of the “Save Our Hospital” grassroots effort which is rapidly growing in our community. We strongly encourage your attendance at the MMSC Town Hall meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 4 in the MHS Community Auditorium. We also encourage your active participation by becoming voting members of our community-owned hospital. You may request a membership application from MMSC at 3 South 4th Ave. by letter or a phone call to 641-754-5151. The annual membership cost is only $10 per voting member which the hospital advises is kept low to encourage greater community participation. In addition, all membership fees are used to provide indigent care at MMSC.
It is also extremely important that each of the 12 MMSC Board of Trustees members accept his or her elected responsibility to be on stage at the MHS Auditorium on Dec. 4 to listen to the concerns of Marshalltown citizens and inform us of their decision making process which will have a major impact on our community. If you cannot attend the Dec. 4 meeting, please call individual members of the MMSC Board of Trustees and give them your opinion. The Trustees are: Dr. Terry Briggs, Mike Mason, Jim Lowrance, Carol Hibbs, Dr. Chris Duree, Sharon Greer, Dr. Polly Hineman, Sue Martin, Kim Schryver, Kevin Swartz, Dr. Stephen Van Buren and Bruce Wirin.
It is crucial for the citizens of our community to become more actively involved in the affairs of our community hospital. Please become hospital members and join us on Dec. 4 to deliver a strong message that we want to “Save Our Hospital.”
