Tigers trample tourney hosts in NCMC finale
TRENTON, Mo. – Mackenzie Gott’s double-double of 24 points and 10 rebounds helped the Marshalltown Community College women’s basketball team turn back tournament host North Central Missouri College in Saturday’s finale of the NCMC Classic, winning 87-65.
It marked the sixth 20-point game and the sixth double-double of the season for Gott, a sophomore post from Oskaloosa.
Jasmin Howe came off the bench to score 20 points thanks to four 3-pointers, and Ashley Salgado’s first career double-double included 11 points and a career-best 11 assists. Kaleigh Sieck went 3-for-3 from 3-point land and notched 17 points for the Tigers (10-1), who notched their seventh straight victory.
MCC tips off Iowa Community College Athletic Conference Division II play on Wednesday night, hosting Ellsworth CC in a 5 p.m. contest at the Student Activity Center.
