Big 12 tabs Hogue for weekly honor
AMES – Iowa State junior forward Dustin Hogue has been named the Big 12 men’s basketball Player of the Week after averaging 19.5 points and 15 rebounds per game in a pair of wins last week.
Hogue, a junior transfer from Indian Hills Community College, had career-highs of 22 points in last Monday’s win over Auburn in the Big 12/SEC Challenge, then followed it up with 17 points and 14 boards in the Cyclones’ triumph over Northern Iowa on Saturday in the Big Four Challenge.
He is one of three Cyclones to receive the Big 12’s weekly honor this season.
Iowa State returns to action Friday in a ranked showdown against in-state rival Iowa, starting at 8:30 p.m. inside Hilton Coliseum.
