Find meaning in the Christmas season with ‘Our King Has Come’
Find the true meaning of Christmas this season at New Hope Christian Church’s productions of “Our King Has Come.”
This year’s musical production will also be done in partnership with The Van Orman House, a new local program in Marshalltown dedicated to helping women in crisis by providing life-skills training and Christ-centered community.
“Our King Has Come” follows the story of three family members as they explore together the true meaning of the Christmas season. As they discuss the true Christmas story, they seek to answer the question many of us ask this time of year, “Certainly there must be more to Christmas than this?”
Interspersed with the drama are moving seasonal music numbers – these include traditional favorites such as “The First Noel,” “Angels We Have Heard on High” and “O Holy Night,” as well as a variety of more modern songs such as “One Child” and “Heaven Everywhere.”
“Our King Has Come” will open at 7 p.m. Dec. 19-20 at New Hope Christian Church, 3901 S. Center St. in Marshalltown, across from Marshalltown Community College. Admission to the musical is free, and there will be a free dessert served following the program.
