SPORTS SHORTS: Four JV wrestlers go unbeaten in Tama

TAMA Four different Bobcats finished with unbeaten marks as the Marshalltown JV wrestling team had a strong showing Saturday at the South Tama Invite.

Dakota Weishaubt won all five of his matches, while Luis Chaves, Josh Sowers and Austin Baker each finished 4-0. Tristen Traylor tallied a 3-1 showing, while Hector Hernandez split his four matches in the nine-team meet.

Other MHS wrestlers included Adrian Sanchez (1-3), Andres Saucedo (0-3), Antonio Patricio (0-3), Alec Reynolds (0-3) and Dakota Platt (0-5).

Fleck, Mann go unbeaten at SE?Polk

PLEASANT HILL The Marshalltown JV wrestling team was well represented at the Southeast Polk JV Dual Meet as six Bobcats attained winning marks Saturday.

Anthony Fleck and Devan Mann each won all five of their matches. Ryan Bitker, Reese Hageman and Jose Zaragoza all had 4-1 showings, while Oswaldo Rodriguez charted a 3-2 record in the seven-team competition.

MHS sophomores fall to Fort Dodge

FORT DODGE The Marshalltown sophomore boys basketball team came home on the short end of a 77-43 loss to Fort Dodge Friday.

Sam Rogers led the Bobcats (0-4, 0-1) with eight points and Christian Guido added seven. Sam Weatherman chipped in six points and Tony Smith had five in the Central Iowa Conference Northern Division opener.

Marshalltown hosts Ankeny Centennial Tuesday at 4:45 p.m.
