Arrests

On Monday, Candice Jo Fisher, Homeless, was arrested for burglary-third degree and theft-second degree.

On Saturday, Ira Wanatee, of Montour, was arrested for public intoxication-enhanced and interference with official acts.

On Friday, Logan Nathaniel Bear, 505 N. 13th Ave., was arrested for serious assault.

On Dec. 26, Barbara Joe Edel, 2501 S. Second St. Apt. #4, was arrested for aggravated domestic assault-enhanced.

On Dec. 26, Daryl Wayne Ferguson, 7 S. Sixth St., was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense.

Accidents

On Monday, a minivan driven by Leslie George Osborne, of Brooklyn, was exiting a parking spot in the strip mall on LaFrenz Lane when it collided with a minivan driven by James Edward Carmicheal, of Melbourne, which had stopped behind the Osborne vehicle in the lane. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Carmicheal minivan was estimated at $2,000.

On Friday, a vehicle driven by Sandra L. Ordaz, 404 Fremont St., was eastbound on West Boone Street at the intersection with South Ninth Street when it pulled away from the stop sign into the path of a vehicle driven by Gary Scott Ferriss, of Eldora, which was traveling north on Ninth Street and the two vehicles collided. No injuries were reported. Ordaz was cited for failure to obey a stop sign and Ferriss was cited for no insurance-accident. Damage to the Ordaz vehicle was estimated at $3,000 while the Ferriss vehicle received an estimated $4,000 in damage.

On Friday, a semi driven by Arturo Olivares, of Toledo, Ohio, was eastbound on Linn Street attempting to turn south onto Center Street when the right side of the trailer struck the base of the traffic signal pole on the southwest corner of the intersection knocking it over and damaging the signals and base. No injuries were reported. Damage to the traffic signal and base belonging to the City of Marshalltown was estimated at $2,000.

On Friday, a car driven by Be O, 1113 Fremont St., was northbound on South Center Street approaching the Ferner Street intersection and slowing for non-contact vehicle in front making a turn when a car driven by Amy Lee Kelly, 715 Washington St., collided with the rear of the O car and a car driven by Viridiana Cervantes Reynosa, 1110 S. Fourth St., collided with the rear of the Kelly car. No injuries were reported. Kelly and Cervantes Reynosa were cited for failure to stop within an assured, clear distance. Damage to the O car was estimated at $100 while the Kelly car received an estimated $5,000 in damage and the Cervantes Reynosa car an estimated $500 in damage.

On Friday, a car driven by Ysidro Mella, 606 W. Boone St. Apt. #2, was pulling away from a parking spot in the 100 block of West Main Street when it collided with a car driven by Penny Ellen Hand, of Tama, which was westbound on Main Street. No injuries were reported. Mella was cited for unsafe start of a stopped vehicle and driving under suspension. Damage to the Mella car was estimated at $3,000 while the Hand car received an estimated $300 in damage.

On Dec. 22, a vehicle driven by Mary Jane Eubanks, 802 Radcliffe Drive, was eastbound on East South Street saw a vehicle on First Avenue sliding toward South Street on ice and took evasive action and struck a stop sign belonging to the City of Marshalltown. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Eubanks vehicle was estimated at $2,000 while the stop sign received an estimated $100 in damage.

On Dec. 20, a pickup driven by Micah Clark Engle, 309 Bryngelson Drive, was eastbound in the 300 block of West South Street when it went out of control on the ice covered roadway, crossed the center line and collided with a pickup driven by Thomas Earl Campbell, 1013 S. Second St., which was traveling west on South Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Engle pickup was estimated at $5,000 while the Campbell pickup received an estimated $10,000 in damage.

Incidents

On Sunday, Mary Jo Keith, of Grinnell, reported the theft of an iPhone 4S. Estimated value of loss was $200.
