James A. Burch
James A. Burch a resident of Marshalltown, IA passed away Monday, December 30, 2013 at the VA Hospital in Des Moines, IA. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 5, 2014 at the Main St. Chapel of the Anderson Funeral Homes in Marshalltown. Visitation will be held for one hour prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home. Internment with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in Conesville Cemetery in Conesville, IA. Memorials may be directed to the Wounded Warrior Project. James was born November 8, 1968 in Upland, CA to Sandey Burch. He was a graduate of Radford High School in Honolulu, HI. He then joined the United States Army where he served for twelve years. Among his many assignments were deployments to the Middle East during Desert Shield and Desert Storm. James was an avid reader and history buff. He enjoyed dirt track racing, loved animals and was a lifelong fan of the San Diego Chargers. James had a strong passion and love for music; he was obsessed with bands such as Metallica, Iron Maiden and many others. James also was very happy when spending time with his nieces and nephew, Arya, Ainslee and Liam.
He will be missed by his parents, Bernard and Sandey Forbes of Conesville, IA; his siblings, Michael Burch of Nashville, TN, Sarah Forbes of Conesville, IA and Joshua Forbes of Cedar Rapids, IA; his grandmother, Doris Forbes of Columbus Junction, IA; his aunts, Joyce of Arlington, TX, Nancy (Gary) of Columbus Junction, IA, Tina (David) of Macon, IL, Debbie (Donnie) of Kalona, IA, and Sandi (Gene) of Grandview, IA and his uncles, Jim (Judy) of Iowa City, IA, Gary (Myra) of Covington, LA, Steve (Cindy) of Lone Tree, IA and Doug (Marylin) of Columbus Junction, IA. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, James Forbes; his uncle, John Forbes and his aunts, Shelia and Bonnie.
