ISU’s Kane is national player of the week
AMES – DeAndre Kane’s MVP performance in the Diamond Head Classic earned him national recognition earlier this week.
Kane averaged 19 points and eight rebounds per game in the Cyclones’ two wins in Alaska as Iowa State stayed unbeaten and took home the tournament championship.
For his efforts, Kane also was named the United States Basketball Writers Association Oscar Robertson National Player of the Week.
Kane continued his strong play Tuesday night with a near triple-double against Northern Illinois.
The Cyclones (12-0) head into Big 12 play this weekend as one of just seven undefeated teams in the nation.
