Nate and Kim Anderson, of Minnetonka, Minn., are the parents of a son, Griffin Sonny Anderson, born on Dec. 27. Welcoming Griffin home is big sister Quinn. Grandparents are Don and Patty Stull, of Marshalltown, and Mike and Nancy Anderson, of International Falls, Minn.

Carey Ann Meling, 312 W. Boone St., made an initial appearance on a prohibited acts charge, a possession of marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Jan. 22. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A substance abuse evaluation was ordered to be obtained and submitted within 60 days of today’s date.

Julio Badillo-Moreno, 701 N. Fourth St., made an initial appearance on a probation revocation request. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing is set for 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 5. Badillo-Moreno was released on his own recognizance with the understanding that his probation is still in affect.

Incidents

On Wednesday, Missy Townsend, 1010 Lincoln Way, reported the theft of a LG Lucid cell phone and case from her residence. Estimated value of loss was $150.

On Wednesday, Nancy Louann Carmer, 408 E. Linn St. (Half), reported hit and run damage to the driver side front bumper and fender on a 2010 Chevy Aveo while parked at 313 N. Fourth Ave. Estimated value of damage was $750.

Arrests

On Thursday, Barbara Joe Edel, 2501 S. Second St. Apt. #4, was arrested for public intoxication.
