Near perfecto leads Fort Dodge over MHS bowlers
FORT DODGE – Michaela Spaulding flirted with perfection during Fort Dodge’s bowling meet against Marshalltown on Tuesday night.
The Dodger star rolled a 299 in her second game and carded a 575 series on the night, leading host Fort Dodge to a 2,958-2,046 win over the Bobcats.
The Dodger boys also got individual games of 269, 259, 245 and 238 in their head-to-head meeting with the MHS boys and that helped them defeat the Bobcats 3,243-2,944.
The top performer for the Bobcat boys was Brett Wax. Wax started his day with a 257 and ended up with a 450 series. Severio Mancieri carded a 234 in his second game and ended up with a 419 series. Floyd Speck had a high game of 235 and a 393 series on the night.
Tia Vergauwen led the Bobcat girls with a 300 series, while Lily Neuan added a 290. Kathleen Ferrin’s best game was a 146 and she finished with a 274 series.
But nothing matched Spaulding on the night. She opened the meet with a 216 in the opener and her 299 gave her a 575 series overall.
That was better than any other bowler in the building as the best Dodger boy’s series was Chase Messerly’s 496. He rolled a 259 and a 237, while Drew Hanson added a 269 and a 211 for a 480 series.
The Bobcat bowlers return to the lanes Monday when they host Des Moines North at 3:45 p.m.
