MCC’s Williams-Perry collects ICCAC honor

Rebounding specialist Courtney Williams-Perry has pulled down her second consecutive weekly honor from the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference.

The Marshalltown Community College freshman from Milwaukee has been named the ICCAC Division II women’s basketball Defensive Player of the Week.

Williams-Perry helped MCC split a pair of games against ranked foes last week, including a 68-67 victory over previously ranked DMACC. Williams-Perry had 16 rebounds and two steals in the win over the Bears, while also contributing 15 rebounds (eight offensive) and a blocked shot in last Wednesday’s loss to No. 4 Kirkwood.

With 9.3 rebounds per game, Williams-Perry ranks third in the conference.

The Tigers will next travel to Northeast (Neb.) on Saturday. Tip off is set for 5 p.m.
