Pastor Dan and Amy Redhage, of Centerville, S.D., are the parents of a daughter, Laura Abigail, was born on Dec. 2, 2013. She joins siblings David, Sarah, Michael and Paul. Grandparents are Hank and Bonnie Bradbury, of Marshalltown, and Pastor Lloyd and Shelly Redhage, of Andover, S.D. Great grandmother is Louette Osterman, of Sheboygan, Wis.
Chad and Angie Pietig, of Marshalltown, announce the birth of their daughter, Piper Marie Pietig, born on Jan. 12, at Marshalltown Medical and Surgical Center. Piper weighed 7 pounds, 13 ounces and was 20 inches in length. She is welcomed home by her big sister, Payton. Grandparents are Stan and Sharon Allspach, of Baxter, and Darrell and Jean Creighton, of Cedar Falls. Great-grandparents are Annabell Pietig, of Carroll, and Hugh and Germaine Whitlatch, of Knoxville.
Gabe Moeller and Erin McCann Moeller,of Marshalltown, are the parents of a son, Jordan Thomas Moeller, born at 3:20 a.m. on Jan. 11 at Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center. Welcoming Jordan home is big sister, Grace June Moeller. Grandparents are Judy Moeller, Steve & Debbie McCann and Tom & Amy Moeller.

David Perry, 1509 Marion St. Apt. F1, made an initial appearance on a serious assault charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on Feb. 14. Perry was released on his own recognizance. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.
Andrew Allen Hilleman, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today’s date.
Paulina Suarez, 108 N. 14th Ave., made an initial appearance on a failure to stop within an assured, clear distance charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today’s date. The clerk’s office will condemn the bond for payment and return the remainder to Suarez.
Arlene Ruth Dillon, 1211 W. State St. Apt. #441, made an initial appearance on a failure to stop within assured, clear distance charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.

On Wednesday, an employee with Kwik Star, 814 S. Sixth St., reported the theft of gasoline, a bottle of Jack Daniels, knife blades, a lanyard, an air freshener, stickers and window graphics in the amount of $100.35.
On Thursday, David Robert Lee Perry, 1509 Marion St. Apt. F1, was arrested for serious assault.
On Thursday, Silvia Marie Garcia, 112 W. Lincoln St., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana.
On Wednesday, Shelby Peak, 912 Stegman Blvd., was arrested on two counts of child endangerment without injury and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Jan. 6, Jerome Devonte Gray, of Milwaukee, Wis., was arrested for burglary-third degree from the Marshalltown Community College Bookstore.
On Jan. 6, Giovanni Shavonn Ellis, of Queens, N.Y., was arrested for burglary-third degree from the MCC Bookstore.
On Jan. 6, Lowell Adolphus Wade, of Romules, Mich., was arrested for burglary-third degree from the MCC Bookstore.
On Jan. 6, Tyrese Myguan Hoxter, of Boston, Mass., was arrested for burglary-third degree from the MCC Bookstore.
Marshall County Sheriff’s Office
On Wednesday, a pickup driven by Daniel Judd Rasmussen, of Independence, was eastbound on Iowa Avenue East stopped at the intersection with South 18th Avenue when it collided with the rear of a car driven by Denise Ann Cox, 3 E. Lincoln St. Apt. #7, which had started to turn right onto 18th Avenue and then stopped to yield to an oncoming vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Cox car was estimated at $2,500.
On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Makala Rae Brinkley, of Boone, was eastbound on Highway 30 when it went out of control on the ice covered roadway, began sliding sideways and came to rest in the south ditch. Brinkley was possibly injured, but not treated. Damage to the Brinkley vehicle was estimated at $300.
On Monday, a vehicle driven by Joshua Nishad Shankar Limaye, of Marion, was westbound on Highway 30 near the intersection of Yates Avenue when it went out of control on the icy roadway and entered the north ditch. A vehicle driven by Julia Adriana Calderon-Diaz, of Ames, was following behind when it hit the same patch of ice causing it to travel the same path as the Limaye vehicle colliding with the rear. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Limaye vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Calderon-Diaz vehicle received an estimated $3,500 in damage.
