Man pleads not guilty to child sex abuse charge
A Marshalltown man accused of sexually abusing a child has pleaded not guilty to charges and is demanding a speedy trial.
Bobby G. Blue, 31, was arrested Jan. 14 following a police investigation in which officers determined he forced a child under the age of 12 to perform oral sex on him.
According to a police report, the child on Christmas Eve reported to an adult that he was forced to perform the act on Blue. During a police interview Blue admitted the child performed the sex act, according to the report.
Blue is charged with second-degree sexual abuse, a Class B felony, and faces a maximum prison sentence of 25 years if convicted.
Blue is being held on a $50,000 cash-only bond at the Marshall County Jail.
A jury trial has been set for March 25.
