Building 429 headlines Christian music concert

Billboard Christian music chart-toppers Building 429 headline a big Christian music concert coming to First Baptist Church on March 14.

The show will also feature four other bands including Family Force 5, Hawk Nelson, Satellites & Sirens and Lybecker as part of the “We Won’t Be Shaken: The Tour.”

“It’s shaping up to be a pretty big deal, so we are pretty excited,” said Ian McClellan, worship pastor at FBC. “We’ve had really good response. “We are excited to see good, Christian entertainment coming to Marshalltown.”

Building 429 is known for its songs “We Won’t be Shaken,” “Where I Belong” and its breakthrough 2004 hit “Glory Defined.”

“They are Grammy-nominated and they are in high rotation of any Christian music radio station,” McClellan said. “Their music has a really humble heart to it.”

Family Force 5 is known for its youthful, high-energy live shows. The band’s recent hit singles include “Superhero” and “Not Alone.”

“They are very well known and very high-energy,” McClellan said.

Hawk Nelson had its debut release in 2004 and a recent hit “Words” hit No. 1 on Christian radio. McClellan said live Christian concerts are a unique experience.

“It’s good, clean entertainment and a great chance to get Christians together,” McClellan said.

Tickets start at $13 and can be purchased by calling 641-753-3538 or at Limited tickets of $18 each will be at the door the night of the show.

“We’re over halfway sold out so we are expecting to sell out that day,” McClellan said. “In our sanctuary we’ll have 900 to 950 people.”

The pre-show begins at 6 p.m. at the church, which is located at 700 E. Olive St. in Marshalltown. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.
