Wilson, Biehl earn weekly ICCAC softball honors
Marshalltown Community College softball players Sarah Wilson and Lexie Biehl were honored by the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference on Tuesday as Pitcher and Player of the Week, respectively.
Wilson was exceptional in the circle as she provided the Tigers with back-to-back dominant performances. She allowed just one run in her two starts against Bethel University and Minnesota West, collecting one win.
Wilson allowed four hits and struck out 10 against Bethel but lost 1-0 in eight innings. She fanned nine and walked one while allowing four more hits against Minnesota West as MCC (4-3) won 10-0.
Biehl did her damage at the plate. The freshman from Maquoketa batted .611 in the Tigers’ six games last week and has recorded at least one hit in all seven games.
Against Rochester Community and Technical College, Biehl went 2-for-2 with a pair of home runs and three RBIs.
The Tigers return to action Thursday with a pair of games at Southeast Community College before heading to Oklahoma to participate in the Midwest Classic over the weekend.
