Amenzou, Arment tally top-10 finishes

AMES – Imad Amenzou and Brady Arment each kicked off their track and field season with top 10 finishes Tuesday at the Iowa State High School Track and Field Indoor Classic.

Amenzou collected a sixth-place finish in the 1,600-meter run with a time of 4 minutes, 32.35 seconds and Arment leaped to a seventh-place tally in the high jump. Arment, a state qualifier in the event last year, began his senior season with a jump of 5 feet, 9 inches.

The Bobcats also fared well in the distance medley. The foursome of Jordan Banes, John Espinoza, Aaron Hauser and Scott Johnson hit the line in 3:50.54.

Next up for Marshalltown is an indoor meet at Central College on Friday.
