Casey Alhelm-Thorn, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Patrick Earl Charles, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a operation without registration charge, a no insurance charge and a no valid driver’s license charge. He pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension and no valid driver’s license charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine was $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the driver’s license was $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. The operation without registration and no insurance charges were dismissed when proof was submitted and assessed $60 in court costs per charge. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date.

Blake Dubberke, 303 S. First St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $100 with a $35 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $320, due within 30 days of today’s date.

A 15-year-old male from Marshalltown made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The court allowed for 10 hours of unpaid community service in lieu of the fine and surcharge plus pay the court costs to be completed by June 1.

A 16-year-old female from Marshalltown made an initial appearance on a curfew violation charge. She pleaded guilty and was fined $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. The court allowed for 10 hours of unpaid community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by June 1.

Jaime Guido Sanchez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a improper brake light charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded guilty to all charges. On the driving under suspension and no insurance charges the fines were $250 each with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 per charge. The fine on the improper brake light was $30 with a $10.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $100.50. On the no driver’s license the fine was $200 with a $70 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $330. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date.

Jesus Lopez, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a operation without registration charge, a no valid driver’s license charge and a no insurance charge. He pleaded not guilty to all charges and a pre-trial conference is set for 9 a.m. on April 29 in Magistrate Court.

Incidents

On Thursday, a person associated with the Faith Open Bible Church, 1402 E. Anson St., reported BB gunshot damage to three panes of glass at the church. Estimated value of damage was $450.

Arrests

On Thursday, Scott Edward Lustyk, 3302 Lily Lane, was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense.

Accidents

On Wednesday, a vehicle driven by Daniel Heriberto Sanchez Robles, of Grinnell, was northbound on South Center Street approaching the intersection with Westwood Drive when it collided with the rear of a minivan driven by La Lam, 1509 Marion St. Apt. G3, which was stopped for the red light. No injuries were reported. Sanchez Robles was cited for failure to stop within an assured, clear distance. Damage to the Sanchez Robles vehicle was estimated at $1,000 while the Lam minivan received an estimated $2,500 in damage.

On Tuesday, a car driven by Trisha Lyn Gill, of Albion, was exiting a parking spot at Hy-Vee and in the alleyway when a vehicle driven by Melanie Marie Mendoza, 706 Summit St., exited its parking spot and collided with the Gill vehicle. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Gill vehicle was estimated at $1,500.

On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Daryl Eugene Carmer, 406 Fremont St., was westbound in the 300 block of West State Street when it hit an icy patch of road causing sliding and it collided with a legally parked Honda Accord owned by Dylan Kelly, of Montour. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Carmer pickup was estimated at $2,500 while the Kelly Accord received an estimated $3,000 in damage.

Accidents

On March 14, a car driven by Miguel Chavez, of Reinbeck, was northbound on Highway 330 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Chavez car was estimated at $3,000.

Arrests

On Tuesday, Victor Scott Tesdahl, of Van Horn, was arrested for failure to comply with the sex offender registry.

On Monday, Rebecca Ann Bracht, of Cedar Rapids, was arrested for contempt of court.

On March 12, Michael Leroy Anderson, 905 W. Iowa Ave. #9, was arrested for four counts of failure to comply with the sex offender registry.

Thursday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a power line down on South Seventh Avenue, an alarm system activation-no fire-unintentional at 301 S. First Ave., an unintentional transmission of alarm at 1602 S. Second Ave., and eight assists with the EMS crew to: 205 N. Fourth Ave., 404 Innes Blvd., 101 W. Iowa Ave., 404 W. Meadow Lane, 207 Westwood Drive, 507 W. High St., 501 Thomas Drive, and 206 Nicholas Drive.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1109 Jackson St., 206 Nicholas Drive, 113 Bohen St., and 3202 S. 12th St.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an unintentional transmission of alarm at 720 S. 12th Ave., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 304 Melody Lane, 3202 S. 12th St., 412 E. Church St., 313 Swayze St., 701 S. Seventh St., and 204 N. Second St.
