Quiet leader speaks up to learn
Being a quiet leader is just fine with Stephanie Sanchez, an eighth grader at Miller Middle School.
“It helps me pay attention,” the 14-year-old said.
Sanchez is taught by Jen Beals in her corrective reading class at Miller. Beals said even though Sanchez is quiet she does speak up when it helps her learning.
“She takes her education very seriously,” Beals said. “She is always at school, is not afraid to ask important questions – questions that will help her become a better, stronger learner.”
Sanchez said she feels comfortable with the staff at Miller.
“They are really friendly and they respect you,” she said.
