Roger S. Anderson

Roger Stephen Anderson, born on Nov. 28, 1944, in Boone, Iowa, passed from this life to life everlasting on April 7, 2014, in Tucson, AZ, surrounded by his loving family.

His parents, Margaret Safstrom Anderson and Evar Anderson, sister Melissa Anderson, and three brothers-in-law, William Harrison, Richard Barsetti, and John Wicken, preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Debra Anderson, son David (Kellie) Anderson , daughter Stephanie (Carlos) Fernandez, step-mother Theo Anderson, of Boone, IA, six grandchildren, and four sisters, Marcia (Harlan) Quick of State Center, IA, Marlene (Rob Beattie) Anderson of Des Moines, IA, Mari Lynn Barsetti of Des Moines, IA, and Melinda Wicken of Lafayette, CO, and their extended families.

Roger graduated from West Marshall High School, State Center, IA, in 1963 and attended NE Missouri State University. He was a Viet Nam Veteran, serving in the USAF. He was an active volunteer in many organizations including the Reinbeck Fire Department, the Boy Scouts of America, and the Alzheimer’s Association. He served faithfully in his faith communities.

A memorial service and reception will be held at Christ Presbyterian Church, 6565 E. Broadway Blvd., Tucson, AZ, on Saturday, April 12, at 11 am.
