Man wanted for pushing woman, punching dog
A warrant has been issued for a Marshalltown man who is charged with simple domestic assault, animal ordinance violation, false imprisonment and criminal mischief after he allegedly pushed his ex-girlfriend and punched her dog.
Austin C. Elliot, 27, is wanted for an incident that took place at 4 a.m., Saturday at his ex-girlfriend’s apartment on the 700 block of West Main Street.
Capt. Brian Batterson, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said Elliot came to his ex-girlfriend’s house early that morning intoxicated and angry. She let him inside and they talked until an argument between the two began.
According to a police report, the victim got up from a couch and he pushed her in the chest a few times. She wanted to leave the house and he blocked her from the door for about 30 minutes. He then allegedly started throwing things, broke her phone when she tried to use it and punched her Boxer. She went to a neighbor’s house and called police.
The victim had minor cuts from the objects that were thrown inside the home. The dog did not have any injuries.
Man punches woman with child
A Marshalltown man who allegedly punched his child’s mother while she was lying next to their 10-month-old daughter is charged with serious domestic assault and child endangerment without injury.
Lual K. Tuguor, 36, was arrested at about 1 a.m. Saturday, on the 600 block of Jerome Street, after he was found inside their apartment holding their daughter.
According to police, Tuguor asked the victim to make him food and she denied his request because there was no food in the house. Tuguor began to scream at her until she took their child in their bedroom and laid down.
While she was laying next to their child, he punched her multiple times in the face leaving scratches and welts on her. When he took the child from her, the victim called 911. The child was not injured.
While police were investigating the incident their roommate Michael A. Jones, 26, was yelling and screaming at police saying they had no business being in their apartment. He also told police if they arrested Tuguor he would beat them up.
Jones is charged with interference with official acts and second-degree harassment.
Woman found with brass knuckles
A Marshalltown woman is charged with carrying weapons and driving under suspension after she tried to avoid police but was later found with brass knuckles.
Monique L. Woodsmall, 21, was arrested Saturday, at her apartment on the 10 block of West Grant Street, after she was ran from her car into her apartment after she saw police nearby.
Capt. Brian Batterson, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said two police were parked on the 500 block of North Third Street and noticed a woman come out of an apartment and sit in her car. She sat in her car for about 20 minutes, until the police left.
The officers noticed the same car nearby and followed it. Woodsmall parked and ran to her apartment.
When police caught up to her she said she was running because she didn’t have a driver’s license.
She was arrested for driving under suspension and upon search, brass knuckles were found in her front pocket.
Man threatens daughter’s ex with knives
A Marshalltown man is charged with first-degree harassment, carrying weapons and aggravated assault after he allegedly held two knives up to his daughter’s ex-boyfriend.
Ardis Allen, 57, was arrested Saturday, on the 300 block of East Boone Street, after he threatened to kill his daughter’s ex-boyfriend when he came to their house.
According to police, the victim was outside of Allen and his daughter’s house. Allen came outside with the 12-inch long weapons and made the threat.
The victim was not injured.
Man breaks beer bottle on woman’s head
A Marshalltown man is charged with willful injury after he allegedly broke a beer bottle on a woman’s head and left her in a pool of blood on the floor of a local bar.
Marcel Oden, 42, was arrested after he turned himself in Friday, for the incident that happened at the Blue Note Bar, 102 W. Main St., on April 13.
Capt. Brian Batterson, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said two women were involved in a verbal argument before the assault occurred. Miranda Oden, Marcel Oden’s wife, got in between the two, he said and Marcel Oden came up and talked to one of the women. During this time, a man pushed the other woman involved in the argument and then Marcel Oden punched the woman in the face, Batterson said.
As the victim was leaving Marcel Oden broke a beer bottle over her face causing her to go unconscious and fall to the ground, Batterson said.
When police got to the bar the victim was found on the floor with shards of glass and cuts on her eyebrows and eye lids. She also had chipped and missing teeth. She went to the hospital for her injuries.
Marcel Oden is currently being held in the Marshall County Jail on a $10,000 surety bond.
Man assaults woman by elementary school
A Marshalltown man was cited for simple assault after he punched a woman in the face outside of a local elementary school.
Ryan L. Roop, 19, was cited Friday, for the incident that happened outside of Hoglan Elementary School, 2306 S. Third Ave., after he assaulted a woman he had a previous conflict with.
Capt. Brian Batterson, of the Marshalltown Police Department, said Roop was standing in the middle of the street. The victim, who was driving, stopped her car and Roop started to yell, then assaulted her.
The victim was not injured.
