Grundy County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

On April 18, Colin McCalley, age 20, of Marshalltown, was arrested by Marshall County authorities on a Grundy County warrant charging him with failure to appear. He posted bond and was released.

On April 17, Erik Erks, age 18, of Dike, was arrested on Highway 14 north of Highway 20 and charged with driving while revoked. He is being held in lieu of bond.

On April 11, Terry Schoenhut II, age 30, of Traer, was arrested at the Sheriff’s Office on a Black Hawk County warrant charging him with parole violation. He was released to Black Hawk County authorities.

Accidents

On April 20, a vehicle driven by Timothy Wilson, age 41, of Marshalltown, was southbound on K Avenue at 270th Street when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Wilson vehicle was estimated at $5,000.

On April 17, a Jeep driven by Tanner Enderson, age 22, of Gilbertville, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Enderson Jeep was estimated at $2,000.

On April 15, a vehicle driven by Linda Schneider, age 61, of Marshalltown, was northbound on T-29 when it pulled out to pass a vehicle pulling an anhydrous tank and collided with a car driven by Lenni D’Vine, age 34, of Conrad, which was already in the position of passing the Schneider vehicle and the anhydrous vehicle. No injuries were reported. Schneider was cited for failure to yield to a passing vehicle. Damage to the Schneider vehicle was estimated at $7,100 while the D’Vine car received an estimated $5,400 in damage.

On April 14, a vehicle driven by Andrew Brandt, age 22, of Reinbeck, was eastbound on X Avenue when it struck a deer that entered the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Brandt vehicle was estimated at $2,500.

On April 14, a semi driven by Neal Duitsman, age 39, of Waterloo, was westbound on Highway 20 when the driver lost control on the snow covered road and jack-knifed coming to rest on the north shoulder. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Duitsman semi was estimated at $6,000.

Thursday

Marcel Oden, 1004 W. Church St., made an initial appearance on a willful injury charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 13. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Joseph Dean Ashby, 104 E. Lincoln St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 22 until the debt is paid in full or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service plus pay the court costs to be completed by Oct. 31.

Abel Enriquez Sanchez, 206 W. Madison St., made an initial appearance on a warrant for driving under suspension. He pleaded guilty and was fined $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50 plus an extra charge for the service of the warrant. The court allowed for monthly installment payments of $50 beginning May 22 until the debt is paid in full or in lieu of the fine and surcharge he may do 46 hours of community service work plus pay the extra court costs to be completed by Oct. 31.

Daniel Thomas Warnell Sr., 1807 W. Main St., made an initial appearance on a driving while barred-habitual offender charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set for 1 p.m. on May 13. Warnell was released on his own recognizance.

Friday

Enrique Analco-Huelotl, 202 1/2 N. 12th St., made an initial appearance on a sex abuse-third degree charge, a child endangerment without injury charge, a obstruction of emergency communications charge, a simple assault charge, a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on May 5. Bond is set at $10,000 cash only. Should he make bond, Analco-Huelotl is released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services. Analco-Huelotl has an Immigration & Customs Enforcement hold on his status. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected parties.

Suleepon Danner, 620 Woodbury St., made an initial appearance on a trespass charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Scot Olson, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a parole violation charge. The court appointed Jeff Hazen as counsel. His case has been sent to the Department of Correctional Services to set a parole violation hearing as soon as its docket permits. Olson is being held without bond.

Juan Carlos Pantoja Aguilera, 802 Jackson St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on May 15. Pantoja Aguilera was released on his own recognizance. The court ordered as a condition of release that he obtain a substance abuse evaluation and submit the results to the court within 60 days of today’s date.

Manuel S. Garcia, 1005 E. South St., made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50, due within 30 day of today’s date.

Brandi Michelle Stiles, 909 Jackson St., made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, a disorderly conduct charge and a trespass charge. She pleaded guilty to all charges. On the possession of drug paraphernalia and trespass charges the fines are $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75. The fine on the disorderly conduct charge is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75. The court condemned the bonds as payment for the charges. Should there be a remainder left on the bonds it will be returned to Stiles, if more payment is due she will have 30 days from today’s date to complete payment.

Angelia Jo Pefferman, 2510 S. Sixth St. Apt. E15, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation request. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court as its docket permits. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this matter. Pefferman is to check in with the Department of Correctional Services upon conclusion of today’s appearance.

Christine Dianne Erwin, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a driving on the wrong side of a two-way highway charge. She pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine for the driving on the wrong side charge is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date.

Luis Felipe Ordaz-Ochoa, 1106 E. Main St., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance-marijuana charge, a possession of drug paraphernalia charge and a interference with official acts charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on May 15. Bond will continue as posted until the conclusion of this case. The court ordered a substance abuse evaluation with the results to be submitted within 60 days of today’s date.
