Tuesday Musical Club holds Scholarship Auditions

The Marshalltown Tuesday Musical Club hosted its 2014 auditions for scholarships to summer music camp April 22 at Fisher Community Center. Music students in seventh through 12th grade were encouraged to apply.

Libby Crawford performed vocal solos “Con qu la lavar?” by Joaquin Rodrigo and “When A Merry Maiden Marries” by Arthur Sullivan. She was accompanied by Jenn Pedersen.

Nataly Sanchez performed “Bourre” by J.S. Bach and arranged by Suzuki on her violin. The details for the auditions were arranged by Karen Engesser, chairperson of the Scholarship Committee. Judges for this event were Kay Beach, Mary Giese and Valerie King.

Both applicants received a $500 scholarship. Crawford received hers in the form of the Gayle Boyd Honorary Scholarship. Following the auditions refreshments were served by hostess Mary Giese and tea committee Annie Grieshop and Jan Randall.
