Family: My wife is Deb Hazen Fiser. We have been married for 38 years. We have two daughters and five grandchildren.
Pets: Neco, a German Shepherd with a bad attitude, and Sergeant Ortiz, a Terrier.
Hobbies and interests: Gardening, landscaping and computers.
Occupation: I retired after 26 years at Lennox Industries. In 1999 Deb and I started a yard, garden and handyman services business. We are co-owners. Let’s just say we work well together. Additionally, I served four years in the U.S. Army.
Best part of job: The opportunity to be creative, working with the public and seeing the results of our labors come together. We take great pride in our work.

Movies: “Pulp Fiction” and “Kill Bill,” both directed by Quentin Tarantino.
Foods: Ribs, peppers and french fries.

Local involvement: The Facebook page: “You Know You are From Marshalltown if You Remember …” and keeping the area convenience stores in business.
Advice: Learn from the past but don’t let the past have a hold on how you live your life today. Remain positive no matter what. Work hard and treat others in a way that you would want to be treated. Judge others by their actions and nothing else. Try to always set a good example. Always remember what it was like to be young, and stay young at heart.
