Marshalltown Police Department

Incidents

On Wednesday, Albert Lee Fields, 602 E. Church St. Apt. #1, reported the theft of eight saw blades and a Mac tool and die set from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $212.

On Tuesday, an employee with Menards, 504 W. Iowa Ave., reported the theft of merchandise in the amount of $106.81 written on an account with insufficient funds.

On Thursday, Joseph Alan Corns, 18 N. 10th Ave., reported the theft of a Motorola Droid Razr cell phone. Estimated value of loss was $250.

On Wednesday, Lisa Marie Lyon, 208 S. Sixth Ave., reported the theft of an Apple iPhone 5C while at 302 Washington St. Estimated value of loss was $500.

On June 1, an employee with Walmart, 2802 S. Center St., reported the theft of cosmetics and women’s clothing valued at $199.72.

Citations

On Wednesday, Jamie Ranae Connett, 902 May St., was cited for driving while barred.

On Thursday, Elvira Gonzalez, 10 N. 10th Ave., was cited for public intoxication.

Arrests

On Thursday, James Dennis Scott, 408 Melody Lane Apt. #4, was arrested for public intoxication.

On Wednesday, Joshua Robert Jamell, 1015 S. Sixth St., was arrested for domestic abuse assault-strangulation, child endangerment without injury and simple assault.

On Wednesday, David Wayne Dereus Jr., 11 W. Grant St. Apt. #4, was arrested for three counts of harassment-first degree, spitting in a police vehicle and interference with official acts.

Accidents

On Tuesday, a car driven by Thomas Jerald Greve, 7 W. North St., was westbound on Marion Street stopped at the intersection with North Third Avenue and then proceeded to turn onto North Third Avenue and collided with a car driven by Kevin Gilbert Walters, of Conrad, which was traveling north on Third Avenue. No injuries were reported. Greve was cited for failure to obey a stop sign. Damage to the Greve car was estimated at $3,000 while the Walters car received an estimated $1,500 in damage.

On Tuesday, a pickup driven by Janet Mae Hala, 2658 Underwood Ave., and a car driven by Morgan Renee Bear, of Tama, were parked in opposite directions in the parking lot in front of Great Clips and both began backing up at the same time colliding in the parking lot. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Bear car was estimated at $2,000.

On May 30, a pickup driven by Todd William Casady, of State Center, was northbound in the 800 block of North Third Avenue when the driver’s side front tire came loose from the axle and fell off the truck causing extensive damage. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Casady truck was estimated at $4,500.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 709 NewCastle Road, a dispatched/cancelled en route to 2400 Zeller Ave., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1211 S. Second Ave., 303 Nicholas Drive, 112 Nicholas Drive, 1516 S. Sixth St., 1314 W. Main St., and 202 N. Second Ave.

Tuesday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a smoke scare at 400 E. Nevada St., a sprinkler activation-no fire at 207 E. Iowa Ave., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1708 Brookside Drive, 306 N. 13th Ave., 1211 W. State St., 3202 S. 12th St., 108 E. Iowa Ave., and 101 NewCastle Road.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an extrication of victims from vehicle on West Olive Street and 10 medical assists with the EMS crew to: 107 N. Center St., 509 E. Olive St., 902 S. Center St., on Arlington Drive, 2500 S. Center St., 607 W. Church St., 7 Marion St., 206 N. First Ave., 1408 S. Sixth St., and 1301 Summit St.

June 1

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a special outside fire at 312 N. Fifth St., a fire at 1312 W. Church St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3202 S. 12th St., 540 E. Main St., 540 N. Third St., 511 W. South St., and 305 N. Fourth St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three medical assists with the EMS crew to: 105 N. Center St., 302 N. Sixth St., and 406 W. South St.,

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a good intent call to 125 S. 11th St., and seven medical assist with the EMS crew to: 608 E. Olive St., 3202 S. 12th St., 11 W. Grant St., 304 Edgeland Drive, 2907 S. Sixth St., 1005 Broadmore Drive, and 201 S. Second St.

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to three outside rubbish fires at: 1708 Fremont St., 909 1/2 S. Third Ave., 122 N. 12th St., a removal of victims from a stalled elevator at 134 E. Main St., and six medical assists with the EMS crew to: 306 N. 13th Ave., 514 E. Olive St., 2907 S. Sixth St., 405 N. Eighth St., 607 W. Church St., and 1907 Bailey Drive.

Incidents

On Thursday, Darwin Dean Long, 2619 Reed Ave., reported the theft of a Hammerhead Mudhead go-cart from his residence. Estimated value of loss was $1,499.

On Tuesday, Dianna Jean Raymond, of Huxley, reported damage to a door and door jamb at her residence. Estimated value of damage was $150.

Arrests

On Thursday, Malin Kenneth Choneska, 112 N. Third St. Apt. #3, was arrested for failure to appear.

On Wednesday, Breanna Leigh Harrelson, 309 N. Third Ave., was arrested for failure to appear.

On Sunday, Carl Lee Kidwell, Homeless, was arrested for trespass and possession of a Schedule I controlled substance.

On May 31, Rafael Garcia-Garcia, 914 S. Ninth Ave., was arrested on a warrant charging him with failure to appear.

Grundy County Sheriff’s Office

Arrests

On May 27, Deon Hinton, age 44, of Wellsburg, was arrested in Wellsburg and charged with domestic abuse assault. He posted bond and was released.

Accidents

On May 31, a car driven by Philip Dodge, age 54, of Dudar, Hungary, was eastbound on Highway 20 when it struck a deer that entered the traveled portion of the roadway. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Dodge car was estimated at $5,000.
