Lance Hazen, 415 N. Third St., made an initial appearance on a possession of marijuana-third offense charge and a public intoxication charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 30. Hazen was released with supervision through the Department of Correctional Services and is to report to the adult probation office by 4 p.m. today to sign a pre-trial agreement. The court ordered a substance abuse evaluation to be obtained and the results to be submitted to the court within 60 days of today’s date.

Nick Eugene Temple, of Marion, made an initial appearance on a probation revocation request. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court as its docket permits. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety.

Jose Manuel Ordaz Rios, 8 N. Eighth Ave., made an initial appearance on a probation revocation request. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The probation revocation hearing will be scheduled by the District Court as its docket permits. Bond is set at $5,000 cash only.

David James Griffin, of Cedar Rapids, made an initial appearance on a failure to appear for an arraignment hearing charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The arraignment hearing is rescheduled for 1 p.m. on June 19. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Jeremy Waltemeyer, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge. He pleaded guilty and a the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $147.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Ashley Renee Spencer, 603 S. Seventh Ave. Apt. #4, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, an operation without registration charge and a seat belt violation charge. She pleaded guilty to the driving under suspension and the seat belt violation charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the seat belt violation is $50 with a $17.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $127.50. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date. On the operation without registration charge she pleaded not guilty and the pre-trial conference is set at 9 a.m. on July 15 in Magistrate Court.

Sherre Reynolds Black, 1110 May St., made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Mario Gonzalez-Guzman, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge and a driving while revoked charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 30.

John Phillip Kephart, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge and a failure to obey a stop sign or yield the right of way charge. He pleaded guilty to both charges. On the driving under suspension charge the fine is $250 with a $87.50 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $397.50. The fine on the failure to obey a stop sign is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195. All payments are due within 30 days of today’s date.

Jennifer Mogler, 214 N. 11th Ave., made an initial appearance on a credit card fraud charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle her case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 19. Bond is set at $2,000.

Armando Lemus, of State Center, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 27.

Kyle Larue Duncan, 507 First St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a domestic assault-strangulation charge and a false imprisonment charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 19. Bond is set at $5,000. A no-contact order was issued for the protected party.

Cheri Mora, 6 S. Sixth St., made an initial appearance on a dog at large charge. She pleaded guilty and the fine is $100 with a $35 surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $195, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Maria Cecilia Perez, 711 W. Church St. Apt. #1, made an initial appearance on a driving while barred charge. Perez will hire Kevin O’Hare as counsel. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 27.
