Arrests

On Sunday, Quentin Mohammed Pendleton, 11 W. Grant St. Apt. #5, was arrested for serious domestic assault.

On Saturday, Javier Perales, address unknown, was arrested for domestic assault-strangulation and public intoxication.

On Saturday, Ian Kapayou, of Tama, was arrested for driving while barred and operating while intoxicated-third offense.

On Saturday, Maria Teresa Chavarria-Alcaraz, 206 N. 12th Ave., was arrested for operating while intoxicated-first offense.

On Saturday, Trae Petersen, 908 Prairie Lane, was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia.

On Saturday, Bart Ingebritson, 905 S. Sixth Ave., was arrested for possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On June 12, Patrick William Bown, 702 Bromley St., was arrested for criminal mischief-fifth degree, trespass and interference with official acts.

On May 18, Jacob Alexander Dent, 810 W. State St., was arrested for credit card fraud.

Accidents

On Sunday, a vehicle driven by Alma Berenice Sanchez-Vazquez, 503 1/2 N. First Ave., was westbound on Lincoln Way when it turned left into the Palm Beach Night Club in front of a bicycle ridden by Gavin Dale Huseboe, 304 N. Eighth St., colliding with the bicycle. Huseboe had minor scrapes and was not transported. Sanchez-Vazquez was cited for failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to the Huseboe cycle was estimated at $4,500.

On Friday, a car driven by Jessica Cervantes, 3 N. Eighth Ave., was southbound on South Third Avenue/Bobcat Boulevard, stopped at the stop sign and then proceeded to turn left onto East Olive Street where it collided with a car driven by Steven Joseph Smith, 2934 250th St., which was traveling west on Olive Street. No injuries were reported. Cervantes was cited for driving under suspension and failure to yield upon left turn. Damage to the Cervantes car was estimated at $1,000 while the Smith car received an estimated $2,000 in damage.

On June 12, a car driven by Beverly Rejeane Pennington, of Montour, was driving in a southeasterly direction cutting across lanes in the Walmart parking lot when it collided with a car driven by Morgan Blair Hessenius, 1721 Country Club Lane, which was driving east past Legends from South Center Street. No injuries were reported. Damage to the Pennington car was estimated at $1,500 while the Hessenius car received an estimated $1,800 in damage.

On June 12, a minivan driven by Hope Ranae Kelly, of Gladbrook, was northbound on South Third Avenue approaching the intersection with East Main Street when it entered the intersection on a red light and collided with a vehicle driven by Maria Guadalupe Granado De Nunez, 211 S. 13th St., which was traveling east on Main Street. A 10-year-old male passenger in the Granado De Nunez vehicle received a cut on his head when it struck the rear passenger door window. Kelly was cited for failure to obey a traffic control device and Granado De Nunez was cited for failure to secure a child under 18 years of age and failure to have a valid driver’s license. Damage to both vehicles was estimated at $4,000 each.

On June 7, a car driven by Rebecca Ann King, of Toledo, was southbound in the outside lane in the 10 block of North Third Avenue when the driver experiencing a seizure caused the car to leave the traveled portion of the roadway striking a billboard and a pole. King was transported to Marshalltown Medical & Surgical Center with possible injuries. King was cited for no insurance and failure to have a valid driver’s license. Damage to the King car was estimated at $3,000.

Sunday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to an outside rubbish fire at 503 Merle Hibbs Blvd., a special outside fire at 511 Woodbury St., a dispatched/cancelled en route to 604 Jerome St., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 11 N. Eighth Ave., 11 W. Grant St., 301 1/2 S. 15th Ave., 1104 W. Church St., and 705 Iowa Ave. West.

Monday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to two dispatched/cancelled en route to 500 E. Boone St., and 305 Sharon Ave., and four medical assists with the EMS crew to: 1205 W. State St., 514 N. First Ave., 20 Iowa Ave. West, and 608 N. Second Ave.

Friday

The Marshalltown Fire Department responded to a malicious false call to 201 N. Second Ave., and five medical assists with the EMS crew to: 3202 S. 12th St., 309 W. Boone St., 1707 S. Seventh Ave., 6 W. Olive St., and on Church Street.
