Melissa A. Crusen, of Des Moines, made an initial appearance on an application for probation revocation. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle her case. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 16. Bond is set at $2,000 cash or surety.

Brittney Ann Wirtz, of Waterloo, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. She pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is set at 9 a.m. on July 15 in Magistrate Court. The court appointed Merrill Swartz as counsel. Wirtz was released on her own recognizance.

Elora Adriana Contreras, 112 N. First St. Apt. #3, made an initial appearance on a theft-fifth degree charge. The court appointed Breanna Weber as counsel. Contreras pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled for 9 a.m. on July 15 in Magistrate Court. Contreras was released on her own recognizance.

Edward Stokes Jr., 402 Washington St., made an initial appearance on a violation of a no-contact order charge. The court appointed Aaron Vaughn as counsel. The contempt hearing is set at 9:30 a.m. on July 2. Bond is $1,000 cash or surety. The court ordered that if Stokes owned or possessed any firearms or ammunition, he is to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Office within 24 hours to make arrangements to surrender them. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Jillisa Jorgensen, address unknown, made an initial appearance on a application to revoke probation. Marshon Dubbert will continue as counsel. The probation revocation hearing is scheduled for 1:45 p.m. on July 2. Bond is set at $1,000 cash only.

Caleb Butler, of Grinnell, made an initial appearance on a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. He pleaded guilty and the fine is $65 with a $22.75 surcharge, a $125 law enforcement initiative surcharge and $60 in court costs for a total of $272.75, due within 30 days of today’s date.

Malcom Hawk, 210 N. Second St., made an initial appearance on a disorderly conduct charge and a violation of a no-contact order charge. On the disorderly conduct charge, Hawk pleaded not guilty and a pre-trial conference is scheduled at 9 a.m. on July 5 in Magistrate Court. In the violation of a no-contact order a hearing for an initial appearance in the District Associate Court for scheduling of a contempt hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 27. The public defender’s office will continue as counsel on this case. Hawk was released on his own recognizance. A new no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Javier Guadalupe Perales, 305 N. 15th Ave., made an initial appearance on a domestic assault-strangulation charge and a public intoxication charge. The preliminary hearing is set at 1 p.m. on June 24. The public defender’s office is appointed as counsel. The court ordered that Perales be photographed and fingerprinted in connection with this case. Bond is set at $5,000 cash or surety. A no-contact order has been issued for the protected party.

Bart Marion Ingebritson, 905 S. Sixth Ave., made an initial appearance on a possession of a Schedule I controlled substance charge, a possession of a Schedule II controlled substance charge and a possession of drug paraphernalia charge. The public defender’s office was appointed to handle his case. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3. Ingebritson has been released on his own recognizance.

Kurtis Lee Osipchack, of Hartwick, made an initial appearance on a driving under suspension charge, a no insurance charge and a light restricting device charge. The preliminary hearing is scheduled at 1 p.m. on July 3.
