P.M. Kiwanis hear about healthy diet
The P.M. Kiwanis meeting was held at the Hy-Vee Dining Room on Wednesday night with President Kenny Lamb opening the meeting with all saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
The speaker for the evening, Frank Moran, was introduced. He gave a very informative speech about the consumption of food. He told many facts about the benefits from the consumption of certain foods and the affects on your body of too much of one kind of food which puts unneeded weight on, is hard to lose and not good for the body. Many times we need a “wake-up” call to tell us what we are doing wrong. A lot of times a “wake-up” diet will help to lose excess weight as well as to encourage more exercise. He also explained the coating on some vitamins prevents absorption. Moran emphasized exercise and diet together.
The Lt. Gov. Andy Bradley is scheduled to visit the Salvation Army Building from 6 to 8 p.m. on JUly 19. The meal will start at 6 p.m. with a speech to follow.
The speaker for next week’s meeting is Luenze Van White representing the Orpheum Theater. The public is invited with supper on your own prior to the program at 7 p.m.
