South Hardin snaps six-game slide

MASON CITY – The South Hardin softball team snapped a six-game losing streak with a pair of shutout wins on Saturday at the Mohawk Classic.

Alaina Lake struck out eight in a four-hit shutout, beating Forest City 7-0. Rachel Mildenhall was 2-for-2 with a double, two RBIs and two runs scored to lead the Tiger bats.

South Hardin ended the day with a 10-0, five-inning rout of Clear Lake. Lake struck out eight and walked one in a one-hitter. Cora Spainhower had a huge day at the dish, going 3-for-3 with two doubles and five RBIs.
