Kenneth “Ken” Clark, 83
Kenneth “Ken” Clark, 83, of Eldora, passed away peacefully on the evening of Thursday, June 26th, at the Valley View Nursing Home in Eldora with family at his side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 1st, at the Mitchell Family Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6-8:00 p.m. on Monday evening at the funeral home. Born Kenneth Roland Clark on November 29th, 1930, in Clear Lake, Iowa, he was the son of Milo Peter and Nora (Kalmoe) Clark. He graduated high school and later from the Gale Institute in Minnesota (a trade school for railroading). Ken also served our country honorably from 1952 to 1954 in the Korean Conflict.
On October 20th, 1952, he married the love of his life, Beverly K. Sobek, at the Little Brown Church. Ken was employed with the railroad for 20 years, later a salesman for Moorman Feeds, and then was a rural mail carrier in the Belle Plaine Community as well as subbing the route in Beaman – he enjoyed working.
Left to cherish his memory are Beverly, his loving wife of 62 years, his children- Jim (Marcia) Clark of Eldora and Judy Prouty of Marshalltown, his grandchildren- Stephanie (Gary) Saak of Grundy Center; Randall (Danielle) Clark of Lincoln, Iowa and Jeff Prouty of Cedar Rapids, three precious great-grandchildren- Meghan, Benjamin and Logan Saak, his brothers- Loren Clark of Denver, CO; Doug (Jan) Clark in California and Bob (Judy) Clark of Wesley, Iowa, a sister- Betty (Bill) Bruner of Des Moines and many nieces, nephews and friends.
In death, Ken rejoined his parents and brothers- Dennis, Curt and Frank.
