Personalize summer projects with foot prints

Summer is usually everyone’s favorite time of the year. Days by the pool, trips to the beach, leisure vacations and picnics with friends and family are on everyone’s to do list. Long sunny days provide us with an opportunity to spend more quality time with our loved ones. This month’s project is a perfect way to turn those loving moments into beautiful memories. It can be used to personalize journals, scrapbooks, album covers and pin boards etc.

My daughters create a summer journal every year. This is going to be 2014 summer journal cover with their personalized foot prints. They absolutely loved the idea and enjoyed doing the project.

What you will need:

1. Colorful foam

2. Pencil

3. Scissors

4. Beads

5. Pipe cleaners

6. Flip flop for tracing

Using a pencil trace a flip flop on the foam. Cut out using scissors. Poke three holes in the foam to insert pipe cleaner. Cut pipe cleaner into two halves (for a smaller shoe). Insert beads in pipe cleaners, leaving an inch of space on both ends. Now, put both ends of pipe cleaner through the holes. Twist and adjust ends. Use a sticker or tape to secure the three ends on opposite side.

Wishing you all a very colorful and joyful summer!
