Teenager pleads guilty to felony
A Marshalltown teenager has pleaded guilty to committing a burglary while impersonating a public official with the intentions of committing an assault.
Tristian MacDonald, 17, pleaded guilty to those charges in a plea agreement Monday in an effort to drop charges of third-degree sexual abuse, a Class C felony, third-degree harassment and two counts of simple assault.
MacDonald was charged in March for allegedly gaining entry into a Marshalltown home while claiming he was a police officer looking for narcotics and proceeding to conduct physical searches of the people inside.
If the Department of Corrections can confirm the conditions of release, MacDonald will be released with supervision by the DOC and live with a family friend in Marshalltown.
The other four charges will then be dismissed at his sentencing in six weeks.
